Picasso made bullfighting one of the central themes of his work through the figures of the bull and the minotaur. It was with the great lithographer Fernand Mourlot that Pablo Picasso produced a series of bulls ranging from the most realistic to the most refined. The “Bull” tea towel is the last lithograph, where genius is expressed in a single stroke.
“[…] To get to his one-line bull, he had to go through all the previous bulls. And when you see his eleventh bull, you can’t imagine the work it took him. » Fernand Mourlot, Engraved in my memory, Ed. Robert Laffont, 1979
